What’s new for 2025

Date: 23 January 2025

January 2025 gives us a chance to reflect on last year but also to get excited about the coming season. We have lots of new plants this year and are looking forward to being able to say everything we grow is 100% peat free from plug to pot. We have also taken the difficult decision to only work with plug suppliers who are 100% peat free this year. So this means we have some exciting new ranges available.

Heucheras – our range is ever changing and this year we are exciting about the dinosaur range we will be growing. They are in all different colours and have such cool names like Veggie dinosaur for the green one and Bloody dinosaur for the red leaved one. Heucheras are really good ground cover and equally look good in pots.

Selection of kniphofias

Who doesn’t love a red hot poker? I am biased, I think kniphofias are one of my favourite plants. They give such an injection of colour in any border and you can get them to flower all through the summer into autumn if you pick the right varietys. The Poco series is new for us this year. It is a lovely dwarf variety they would look stunning in any border or would look lovely in a pot.

Every year our selection of Salvias seems to get bigger and bigger. This year is no exception, so what is new in 2025. A lovely new addition this year is the lake series, Lake Como, Blueberry Lake and Flamingo Lake. These newly bred salvia in the Salgoon series, are more drought tolerant.

Salvia Pink lips also known as Jeremy is a lovely cerise pink jamensis type, with white lips. Suzanne is a lovely shruby Salvia with small red flowers which should flower from May all summer long. Salvia Salvito Scarlet is a Gregii Salvia with lovely red flowers and aromatic foliage. Regal lilac is a beautiful pale lilac colour again flowering for most of the summer. There is certainly a place for Salvias in any border.

new range of dahlias for 2025

Our Dahlia range has again changed as we have some lovely new varieties. Dracula is a magenta/red with dark foliage a short variety that would look good in a pot of in the front of a border. Dragon Ball again has dark leaves but a single salmon flower with darker red centre. Dahlia Just Married is a cactus dahlia with gorgeous pale pink flowers. Dahlia Happy Halloween is a bright orange like a pumpkin. Lastly Who Dun It is a real showy decorative dahlia with white petals that look dipped in purple. Make sure you check out our range in our catalogue or on our week availability list.

Peony’s are always one of our most popular ranges and this year will be no exception. In 2025 we are trailing an intersectional peony called Bartzella. This beautiful yellow flower with orange stamens is a floriferous variety that is late flowering. Keep an eye out on our availability list, as we don’t have many. If you are interested contact us for more details.

Our other herbaceous peony range has three new introductions, Edulis Superba which is a lovely pink double. Peter Brand is a deep red double that fades to purple as it matures. Madame Calot is an early reliable flowering variety with cream flowers that look tinged with pale pink.
