Our New Catalogue

Its that time of year again, when we start to work on our new catalogue. Sally takes the lead in this every year as she is a wiz with Publisher! Its quite a lengthy task, as we firstly make sure our Growmaster system is up to date with anything new that we are buying this year. This means that when we are sending out our availability list or printing our stick in colour labels all the information about the plant will be correct, including all the beautiful pictures. We also get rid of any information on plants we are not growing next year. Its a great exercise for us to keep our inventory system up to date and as lean as possible. When you grow over 2000 varieties it can be quite a task to do this efficiently!

Once we have all the information updated Sally then does her magic often with the help of Cagney or Daphne the cat. Once all the words are on place we then go through and decide what pictures will make the catalogue. Firstly, we choose a front cover from lots of photos we all take on the nursery each year. Then we go through the pages and select photos of some of the plants on each page. We ask our suppliers for any new plants but mainly use ones we have taken on the nursery. This can take quite a while but is satisfying when we have completed it. Vanessa aka The Oracle then proof reads it to make sure we have no spelling mistakes.

Then come the very technical bit of uploading onto our website. Our aim is to have this completed in the the next couple of weeks with a view to launch before Christmas. Look out for the link when we send out our availability list email.
