Beautiful peatfree bulbs for spring and summer
Every year we offer a great selections of peatfree bulbs for spring colour. From beautiful Anemones blanda in blue, pink and white to English bluebells. We have 5 varieties of Narcissus this year, including the ever popular Tete á Tete. Thalia for a white perfumed variety. Minnow that has pretty multiple creamy yellow heads on single stems. Jack Snipe, a dwarf variety with cream petals and a bright yellow cup. Finally, Winston Churchill which has frilly double petals with splashes of yellow and orange. It is truly stunning!
For something a bit different, we have elegant Camassia’s in blue and white. We also have the fantastic Fritillaria imperalis in 2 litre pots. Commonly known as crown imperial as they have very majestic clusters of bell shaped flowers. We have them in red, yellow and orange. Leucojum Gravetye, also in a 2 litre, commonly known as summer snowflake, has beautiful snowdrop like flowers.
New this year, we have Ipheion Charlotte Bishop. This is a beautiful pink version of the blue Ipheion Wisley Blue that we also grow. We have two muscari Blue Magic and Siberian Tiger. Thier common name is grape hyacinth and have blue flowers that look like a miniature hyacinth. We also grow Fritillaria meleagris, known as snakes head fritillary with their particularly impressive purple checkerboard bell shaped flowers.
Lastly, we have Allium’s, we mainly grow these in 2 litre pots. However, we have allium sphaerocephalum in a smaller 1 litre pot, these have purple/green egg shaped flower heads. Our main allium range includes favourites like Gladiator, Ambassador, and Globemaster which are all single stemmed with massive purple flower heads. In addition, we also have the mid to late summer flowering Alliums, Millennium and Lavender Bubbles. These have multiple flower heads that are great for bees and other insects. New this year is Graceful Beauty which lives up to its name. It has white flowers with violet stamens and looks stunning in any border.
